Roadmap to Continuous Integration Testing and Benefits
Gowri Selka, Walgreens
Natalie Koltun, Walgreens

About the Topic

Software quality and test management are critical elements to ensure successful project delivery. TCOEs have been successful in the industry to drive efficiency, standardization and scalability. For industries that have complex business processes and enterprise wide integrated systems with various technologies, it is important to implement continuous integrated testing within the development cycle along with automated builds to maximize testing investments and to improve the speed to market.

We will explore capabilities and processes that are foundational to enable an organization to adapt continuous testing methodology. We will explore challenges and the organizational maturity required to develop comprehensive test plan, quality management strategy and alignment with the SDLC to reduce the cycle time required for testing. Continuous testing methodology allows functional test teams to focus on business processes rather than detailed tests for each component. We will provide insights into the benefits of continuous testing from early defect detection and ways to effectively test based on technology and business domain.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Identify business needs that requires organization to go beyond TCOE
  • What are the foundational capabilities of continuous integrated testing
  • Benefits of Continuous integrated testing
