Quality Engineering: Driving Higher Quality throughout the SDLC
Jim Mondi, Cognizant

About the Topic

Jim Mondi will present Quality Engineering.  Quality Engineering represents how Quality Assurance and Testing professionals can incorporate new quality-driven approaches and frameworks, metrics, engagement, and governance into the SDLC.  Some examples of approaches include “ambiguity reviews”, quality circles, simulation tools, and early automation.   Organizations that are adopting Quality engineering are seeing their overall project success, as defined by on-time, on-budget, and meeting quality and business expectations, increase significantly.  Organizations also are able to better plan for specific efforts, better understand risks to quality and to ultimate success, and better communicate with the organization about perceptions of quality required or expected.  Finally, quality engineering enables business leaders and owners to engage with their key constituents differently – with the right information, expectations and metrics in place, key business leaders can better evaluate project risks and provide better governance.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to apply ambiguity reviews to Requirements Documents
  • Learn about leveraging quality circles and how to involve the siloed organizations
  • Learn about key quality metrics that can be leveraged across the SDLC
