It’s been over two years since the pandemic started. Many Americans have been making changes and adjustments to the new way of working, as well as re-evaluating their work and careers. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 4.5 million Americans had quit their jobs at the end of November 2021, while 10.6 million jobs were open. In technology sector, the resignation rate rose by 4.5% last year, according to Harvard Business Review.
Meanwhile, the pandemic has also contributed to an increase in demand for people working in technology as organizations have been fast accelerating their digital and cloud adoptions that allow employees working remotely. This is good news for us working in software development and testing, right? When demand exceeds supply, skilled and seasoned technology workers can expect more job offers and more attractive compensation packages.
This virtual meet-up is a great opportunity for us to come together to share how the “Great Resignation” is impacting our current work and some “Great Rethink” about our career.
